International Tango was developed from the Argentine Tango into a vivid new style. Strong staccato movements and fiery poses characterize this dance. The lessons are for beginner level dancers. It may take Two to Tango but you do not need to bring a partner to start enjoying this great aerobic and social activity. Shall We Tango!

International-Style Latin Workshop

Cost: Absolutely nothing for club members! $5 for others as space is available.
What: Learn how to advance your skills in cha cha, samba, and jive from a special guest--a professional competitor and teacher!

Because of the limited floor size, the maximum capacity will be 40 people. Priority will be given to current club members who RSVP by May 25th, 2007. Please plan accordingly because there will be NO WALK-INs.

Remaining openings after May 25th deadline will be open to the Leisure Line class members and non-active members who will be required to pay a $5 registration fee prior to the day of the workshop event. Payment is due by May 29th, 2007.

All members who are interested are encouraged to come! This is a very rare opportunity, and we want to get as much out of this as possible! Please RSVP to jen [at] dancesportucr.com.

More information: Robert and Megan will be practicing at the rec center this Thursday from 6-9 and Friday from 3-6 pm (I think MPR A will still be closed, so we'll be in B or C).  You're all welcome to come (and encouraged to if you are competing) to practice your routines!  We will provide music and will take requests for which dances you want to practice.  This will mostly be an opportunity for you to practice on your own (either with your partner or by yourself in front of the mirror), but we'll be available to answer questions if you have them.

More information: From Fook: "There are about 10 weeks left before the Caltech comp. If you practice and learn the routine for one dance a week. You can compete in 10 different dances. Just a suggestion. If you already know who you want to dance with, schedule your own practice time with your partner during week days. When you have a question ask me before or after Kipp's class. If it is related to what Kipp is teaching, ask him during the class.
For those who are doing the Festival of Lights performance, come to my practice lesson as much as possible if you need help for your routine. Unfortunately, time is running short for this event. There will not be enough time to give each couple individual attention."
